Izzy Yon is an artist and writer who lives and works in London. Their art is always BIG & RED, and often centres around intense live performances. Themes of war, empathy, joy, stardom and power are central to their practice. The artist draws from family histories of the break up of Yugoslavia, queer London subculture, pop stars, generation X, fucking, psychotherapy, communism, fascism, nationalism, our man Titio, Kanye, B, Ariana, contemporary baroque painting, peers, friends, lovers, parents, and their forever life commitment: red.
Izzy studied Fine Art & Art History at Goldsmiths College, graduating with a 1st Class Honours in 2017. She has performed at the Institute of Contemporary Art, London; Le Bain for FIAC Art Fair, Paris; Damien & the Love Guru, Brussels; Every Womxn Biannle, London; and K-Punk, London, among others. Izzy regularly performs at iconic shows and queer venues across London, including Bar Wotever at the Royal Tavern, Steakhouse Live, and Performance Club. Izzy also runs Boldface, a multi-media production company who collaborate with social groups to make art, film and podcasts.
Izzy is non-binary but done with pronoun talk — she or they will do.
